Martin the Alien has arrived on Earth and he wants to know how to make a Healthy Hamburger. Here is a procedure, using the correct structure and language, to instruct Martin on how to make my favourite healthy hamburger.

Title: Favourite hamburger

Ingredients/Materials:

bun

butter

slice of non spicy chicken

a slice of cheese     

Method

1.Get the white bun and spread butter on it.

2.Put a piece of non spicy chicken in a pan and cook for 10 minutes on each side.

3. Take the cooked patty and put it onto the bun.

4. Place a slice of cheese on top.

5.Put the other bun on top.

6.Eat and Enjoy

Animal Reports

I have been learning how to write an animal report using the correct language and structure.

Here is my animal report about Penguins.

Penguins

Introduction: Penguins are birds that can’t fly.

Appearance

Penguins have a black back and white front. They have short legs and webbed feet. They are very plump and have blubber to keep them warm.

Diet

Penguins eat fish, krill and large squid. They hunt under water and they hunt on land.

Habitat

Penguins live in the South Pole and Antarctica. The also live in the Southern Ocean.

Reproduction

Penguins lay 1 or 2 eggs. The mother and father take turns to keep their eggs warm.

Conclusion: Penguins are under threat because of global warming.

We went to the Life Education classroom. We learnt about food. We learnt that lollies aren't good for us and we should only eat them a little. Food that comes from animal we should eat some and food that comes from the ground we need to eat lots. Here is an animation I created.

Sizzle sizzle. Slowly I ate my sausage sizzle while my brother ate his pizza. Wahoo! We were going fishing after that. Swish the fish came flying through the air like a race car. Suddenly my rod starting to bend. I pulled my rod slowly and started to wind. Finally I pulled it in the boat. It was a snapper Luckily it was almost home time because I was starting to feel sea sick.

My group did Loop the Loop for our science experiment.We found out that if you rotate the bucket slow the water falls out. The rotation speed must equal gravity so it doesn't fall out.

Adverbs

I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.

Carefully the boy ran quickly across the road.  

Happily the dinosaur walk slowly up on its prey.

Greedily the cat ate the mouse.

“YAY!!!” I shouted. I was on my blue ipod then my nana yelled, “time to bake some cookies.” We all ran as fast as cheetahs hunting their prey to the kitchen. All three of us put our hands in the white flour bowl and started making cookies. My cousin made a terrible start but she got better. We put lollies in them. They were delicious. All of us made a kinder surprise. It was fun. I yelled “I’m done!” so mine went straight in the oven. After that my brothers was done. My big cousin took a while. Finally we cooked them in the oven. FROM MAX!!! The I ate my cookie!!! .

My First Narrative

Zombie Island

Once upon a time there was an island that had a secret temple.  One night we ran into the temple and went to sleep. When we woke up we were surrounded with zombies guarding us so Ethan broke the bars. We escaped while our dog bit the zombies. We built a raft. Then we noticed the zombies were chasing us so we got everyone on board and sailed away and lived happily ever after.

Lindsay the rally co-driver

Lindsay started driving 40 years ago. She is 66 years old. She has to wear protective gear. She puts her rally car with the mechanics. The car has to be light so it can go fast - everything is stripped out. Her son was 19 when he started.

Chromebooks

Yeah! I couldn't wait until unboxing time. I was so excited. Finally we got into room 2 and there were the chromebooks sitting staring at us. The teachers passed them out then we had a countdown 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1! We opened the boxes. Wow! We were amazed when we saw them. They were shiny. We took them back to class and put them on our table and left for our shared morning tea.
