Meat meat meat!!

Last week my class and I went to life Ed witch is Harold the giraffe we were learning about our body parts and when life Ed left our teacher gave us body parts of animals we used our 5 senses. We had groups and we had to guess what type of raw meat it was and my group had a Kidney my favorite thing was the observation here is my presentation.

Abandoned Hospital

The Abandoned Hospital

Through the old wooden door, beds with burnt holes and smelly blankets lay in a row. The floor was as cold as ice on your feet and smelt like ash. Ripped curtains falling off their rails and cupboards were knocked over. Smashed glass sprinkled the dusty floor and bed legs were bending. The walls were scratched and burnt. Spiders on the roof created webs and cockroaches were on the floor crawling with their tiny little legs. A spider dropped from a web and fell on my hoodie. I freaked out. I landed on a bed, the blankets were still warm.

Learning how to read a scientific report.

We are learning how to read and write scientific reports. We have been doing experiments and writing about them. This is a reading activity we did. We had to be able to match a title for a report with a wondering question.


We are learning how to understand the structure and language of a report about a scientific experiment.
In this exercise you need to match a title with its question. Use the ‘Fill tool’ to colour code the matching ideas.
Notice that none of these questions begin with a ‘Why….’.  This is because the purpose of a scientific experiment report is to share what you thought you knew, what you thought would happen and your observations about what actually did happen. It’s a bit like you are saying:
I’m wondering this…..because I know this…...so therefore if I do this I think this might happen.
So, at the end of a successful scientific report, you may not be able to say why something happened but you will be on the way to finding out why.
Then, when you do find out why, you will have to learn how to write an Explanation. The purpose of  Explanation writing is to answer Why questions. So, do not be surprised if your teachers decide to teach you Explanation writing later on!!!

Spelling Term 2 2017

Kia Ora

This week my class had a spelling test to see if we went up lists or down lists. When we were doing the test my hands were shaking because I was very nervous. After we finished it we went on our chrome books and waited for our results. When we got the results I went up to list 8.1 . Before I was on 7.5 so I was really proud. Even my nana was proud that I went up lots.

The thing that I think I have done well is 3/4 of my spelling words.
And the thing that I think I have done badly is the words that I need to practice.
